Very Clever!
Vikram Franklin replied
Not really – LOL – it’s only after shooting this did I think of putting it on it’s side.
TickerGirl
Cool :) Did you use a mirror?
Vikram Franklin replied
LOL – actually shot it for the right way up, then saw it this way. Used an acrylic sheet (found it reflects without a colour cast).
Kelly Humphries
That’s so cool, Vikram! And I love the title as much as the shot! :0)
Vikram Franklin replied
Thanks Kelly – the title was just begging to go along with this pic.
Johanne Brunet
Love the symmetry! And the subtlety of the title… and the sharpness and clarity… and the composition and fabulous idea! Oh yeah, love the light and touch of colour too! Can you tell that I love it? :-)
Vikram Franklin replied
LOL – thanks Johanne. Your comments are so encouraging.

When I first saw this, I thought of Cupid, the red being the heart and the bottom of the glass the arrow. Now I can’t see it otherwise hehe Very nice picture!
Vikram Franklin replied
Hmmm …. ok I think I can kinda see what you mean…. thanks for taking the time to view and comment
monocotylidono
Best of the series (so far…). You are setting the bar high! ;-) Great composition and lighting.
Vikram Franklin replied
Thanks George – glad you liked this one. My personal fav is Cuppa
Carole Brunet
I like the angle you gave in that shot. Great shot!
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you Carole – I thought the angle would be fun :-)
Francesca Rizzo
Fantastic series Vikram, would make a great calendar :)
Vikram Franklin replied
Hmmm …. thanks for the idea Fran, I’ll need to shoot a few more though – I’m off on holiday for a few days for the New Year’s – think I’ll work on your idea when I’m back.
clare scott
Perfect lighting – how is this done?
Vikram Franklin replied
Thanks Clare – it’s called rim lighting (I just didn’t use fill light). 2 pieces of acrylic (larger one white, smaller one black stacked together behind the subject) + a flash behind the acrylic sheets. Darkened the room and clicked. On this one I just rotated the image afterwards to add fun :-)
lucin
Quite tricky and dramatic.
Vikram Franklin replied
Thank you so much.
