Mother's Day Gift - Pyrenees Mountain Dog Puppy by

Mother’s Day was very special for me this year. I was taken out to visit a litter of Great Pyrenees puppies and asked to choose which one I would like. The choice was so difficult, as they had that look in their eyes “pick me, pick me”. I made my choice and have names her Zara. She is one special little treat, and I have never had a more loving, intuitive, smart, happy puppy in my life.

The Great Pyrenees dog breed’s goal in life is to protect sheep, goats, livestock, people, children, grass, flowers, the moon, the lawn furniture, bird feeders, and any real or imaginary predators that may intrude on your personal space. Oh yeah, and to give, give, and give unconditional love. Anyone who has seen this stunning white dog becomes enamored. What’s not to like? He has a strong build, a beautiful, thick coat, and he exudes elegance and majesty. One look and you can see the intelligence and steady temperament that many seek in a family dog.

Photography is an interest I have developed over the last few years, now It has become much more. I spend many hours on photo shoots, enjoying the outdoors and what Mother Nature provides for each and every one of us.

My moto is: You don’t take a photograph. You ask, quietly, to borrow it.

He is so beautiful! Best wishes for a happy lifetime shared together! I had a Newfie and the breeds are just superb! Love to all, hope you are doing well!

  • Pamela….so good to hear from you my friend. I miss not only you, but your amazing work on RB, so I was surprised to see a comment from you. How are you? Hope you are fit and well, and enjoying warmer temperatures so you can spend time outside. Any changes in the family situation? All is well here, just back from Cuba and now a new puppy to adore. Zara is just beautiful, one big ball of fluff and fun. She has been extremely well behaved since we brought her home on Sunday, even goes to the door when she needs to relieve herself, and at 10 weeks that’s amazing. I know we are going to enjoy our lifetime together, I can tell that already. Thanks so much for your wonderful words, they mean a great deal. Take care my friend, and keep in touch. Susan xoxo

Susan………………you must be delighted with your new puppy………………….what a wonderful gift to receive on Mother’s Day…………………….I hope you have hours and hours of fun……………………….he looks so cute and cuddly, exactly like my daughter-in-law…………………….haha………………….could not resist that one my friend……………..you deserve this after the sadness of losing your beloved Dakota……………………………..hugs from Joyce……………xxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Joyce…..I am more than delighted, she is just such a wonderful little ball of fluff and fun. Definitely a Mother’s Day to remember…..just love your comment….she looks so cute and cuddly, exactly like my daughter-in-law……forgive me, I had forgotten your DIL was called Zara or I might have decided on a different name hahahaha. She has brought much happiness into my life already, such a sweet little girl, and believe it or not she appears to be house trained already….at 10 weeks…..she goes to the door whenever she wants to relieve herself, I let her out, and off she trots, then comes right back to the door to be let in again. What could be better than that :o) It has taken a while for me to get over the loss of Dakota, and I think it was the right thing to do, to bring another happy and joyful puppy into our lives. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, fave, and let me know that my name choosing was perhaps a little off :o) Hugs from your friend Susan……xoxoxoxo

Ooooh what a beauty…. so sweet!! Great capture!

  • Thea she is the best. What a little beauty she is, full of life, and just one big ball of fluff and fun. So soft and an absolute hoot to be around. She is 10 weeks old and is already potty trained….goes to the door when she wants to relieve herself, and trots back in when she’s finished. You can’t replace a dog you have lost, but you can fill a void, and that is what I am trying to do. Susan xo

Oh my god….how cute Susan. You are so lucky and I know she will be well looked after.

Clicking the banner takes you to the group….please enjoy it.

  • Derek she is such a beauty, I just love her so much. I named her Zara, and she is 10 weeks old. One big bundle of fluff and fun. I lost my Labrador Retriever in January, and was devastated. Zara is not a replacement, but a very awesome addition to the family. She is so intuitive, smart, and amazingly loving…not only that, she seems to be trained to do her business outside…which is a definite plus. I love her to death, she is one wonderful addition to the family. So pleased you like the image…and look forward to many more images. Hope you are well, happy and enjoying your photographic lifestyle. Susan xoixo

What a wonderful Mother’s Day Gift! He is absolutely beautiful. Two years ago at Christmas I attended a Christmas parade in Middleburg Va. where there were dozens of these dogs walking in the parade with their owners. The dogs were all decked out for the holidays with red leashes, big red bows, etc. What a sight!

  • Thanks so much Angie for your wonderful comments and fave. She is a little sweetheart, and the family is totally in love with her. I wish I could have been with you when you went to the Christmas parade, it must have been so cute to see the dogs all decked out and in the parade. Awesome idea. Susan

She is already huge at 10 weeks!!! They are a beautiful, big gentle dog. I posted on here a while ago and she just smiled for me!!!

  • I know she is going to be a big dog….just by the size of her paws. I chose female over male, because the males are usually bigger. However, looking at her mother, she was no bigger than a large retriever….hoping Zara takes after her Mom, as with four dogs now, we could all be falling over ourselves. She is such a sweetheart, and now going through the biting stage, my hands are taking the brunt of it right now :o) Susan
