The source images for this panorama were shot in Raw mode on a Canon EOS 5D with a 16mm Zenitar fisheye lens. (It is a manual focus M42 lens fitted via an EOS Adapter.)
This rectangular panorama shows Niamh, Donncha and Moya (two sisters and their brother) enjoying the six seater swing at the Pennyburn Play Trail in Derry, Northern Ireland.
This image shows a more than 200° view cropped from a full 360° panorama.
The 360° image was shot as part of the World Wide Panorama project’s Family event.
It is available on the WWP site in Virtual Reality form.
This swing is in one of a series of interconnected play areas along the Pennyburn play trail.
The Play Trail was created (and is operated) by a consortium of local community, local government and educational organisations with funding from several charitable trusts.
During the school day it is used by children from local schools and once the school day is over it is available to young people from the local community.
Part of my postcard range. You can follow on to another gorgeous Very Ireland Post card .

Method
This 200° rectangular image was cropped from a full 360° panorama.
The full 360° high dynamic range panorama was created by combining 27 separate photographs covering every angle and with bracketed exposures.
Those source images were shot in Raw mode on a Canon EOS 5D with a 16mm Zenitar fisheye lens. (It is a manual focus M42 lens fitted via an EOS Adapter.)
The images were shot in groups of three bracketed exposures (from -2 stops to +2 stops).
They were then stitched and blended together using a program called Hugin, which in turn invoked a program called Enfuse to create the High Dynamic Range effect.

Great photo, George. The sky’s beautiful, and I love the focus on the girl in the air. x
Agnes,
Thank you. As I am sure you know this was a combination of multiple shots. It was a high energy session. Each time I photographed one of the kids swinging, they would jump down and run around to the next empty swing. By the time I got around to Niamh she had got the swing really flying!
So she and the swing were going all the way back and all the way forward above the supporting arch. I just had to include the multiple incarnations!

You certainly caught the energy, George. x
Welcome George:) How’s that fisheye? Do you like it?
Rene,
Thanks for the welcome. Yes it is pretty good especially when closed down to f/16 which is how I usually use it. I mostly use it for images that are going to be stitched together. But occasionally I take a straight shot with it.
