Post-Mortem

Post-Mortem

This is my first piece that i have made since my return to canada, I took the pictures of the grave yard in Queen’stown Newzeland and made the tree by blowing paint with a straw and scanned in various other elements. I got a new drawing tablet for x-mas so i tried to use that a bit here as well. This is the First picture that i made working backwards. I came up with the name 1st after wondering what happens to mail that is delivered to some one who is dead. Then I heard the term “post-mortem” and thought i would do a little word play and the gears in my head started turning…and this was the end result. I hope you all enjoy!

There is alot of stuff in this picture that took many hours to cut out and manipulate, such as the keys and locks hanging from the tree, the various cobb webs, spiders, cracks and vines hidden throughout not to mention the skull on the moon.

Fantastic work. I made a short movie once called Post Mortem. Guy was dead when he got the mail, or getting it killed him in the end. Lovely work here!

‘Post Mortem’ (After Death )is our word in the UK, for the American term, ‘autopsy’.
Superb dark abstract. Love the bright moon and dark flyers. Stunning detail. As you commented, lots of things to observe and discover here.

    Imaginative and accomplished artistry.
