again sitting in his favourite
dark little corner of reality
despondent
sunken
he takes his tattered dog-eared notepad
with no intention of writing
flicking to the beginning
reading and riding the rollercoaster
of nostalgia
skipping the vomit inducing drops
skipping the sharp turns
that crushed everything within
finding the pages
in which his childish soul
was playing in rock pools
the little love heart
scribbled in girly letters
and a little smile appears
first love, first life

re-entering his own world
as a silent bystander

watching himself growing
learning, living, loving
the memories come flooding back
unable to hold back his smile now
scribbled notes
scribbled drawings
holding
more then words could ever
tell
universal love, second life
he rises
