The Essence of Paradigm Shifts
I’m back after a little break…. This topic has been sitting in my head for a while now and today, just poured out as it usually happens. Perhaps it was time to put it into the RedBubble space and hear your thoughts on the subject.

I’m forever fascinated by our journey to self improvement, development and mastery. One of the aspects that stood out for me recently was the energetic transition surrounding certain realisations, and the ease with which we are then able to embrace new changes.
Why for instance, certain decisions to help us to improve our lifestyle, or advance us on the self mastery journey hold for longer than the others, some becoming even permanent, and others are only transient and illusive?
At what point, our decisions to quit a destructive behaviour become permanent and allow us to shed the past without looking back? And what makes us more resilient in the transitional stage to the temptation of going back?
I think this has a lot to do with the energy of realisations: the very shift in energy that occurs at the core, gently guiding us onto a new trail of action.
Being on a certain path not another is governed by numerous factors. Some related to karmic debts, the others to our chosen lessons. At some point a transition takes place, a shift that helps us to exit a destructive path and embrace the self renewing journey.
New awareness or shift in paradigm encompasses a lot of tinny steps which have an accumulative effect. This is where all those little attempts at self mastery and improvement become so crucial. They all bring us closer and closer to the moment where the shift occurs and prevails.
At every step we build and strengthen our awareness, even though we still continue to fail miserably. Even though we may be well aware of dire consequences of our actions, there may not be enough strength to stop us.
However none of those attempts ever go to waste. It appears that once certain threshold is reached, the awareness simply overcomes the egocentric reasoning, and a positive change can take place.
My very fascination lies in this precise moment when the shift takes place. A new fresh momentum gathers that allows us to transition into a richer energy field, creating a protective buffer that carries us through until the change becomes the new norm.
Illusively, all of a sudden, the very things which were impossible to achieve or stay away from only yesterday, today are becoming things of the past. With this new awareness, our focus shifts from trying to quit to trying to crystallise into our reality, that which is already with us energetically.

Quite well written and very much appreciated. I always think of the saying How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. Not that I want to eat an elephant or anything, but it’s a good thought!

Facinating words and topic. I have so been thinking of these things for some time now in my own life. I journal write each day to bring awareness to myself. However some things just keep repeating and I can get so flustered thinking I had broken the cycle. Then one day the cycle just seems to not be there and I have the clarity and control I have been seeking. It is at these moments that I ask myself if I have actually any control or if a higher power just decides that I don’t have to expreience frustration in this area any more. I do like to think life has reason and to this end work very deep to be the best I can be. Such a complex topic in many ways. Thanks for writing this piece.

Thank you for great comments. Yes this piece is a result of reflections over my own struggles to be a better, stronger and more in control person. It is a personal quest, for many people I’m sure, involving lots of ups and downs. And yes, that very moment we notice that ‘the cycle’ appears to be broken, was what promoted me to write about it. It does not happen often, but when it eventually does, it is absolutely wonderful – a huge relief indeed… I’m too left wondering, was there a higher power deciding, ‘ok enough effort was done, let’s grant the wish’, or indeed we create our destiny and have the power to shift the energy surrounding us, with our own efforts. At the moment, just quietly, I’m leaning towards the latter theory. Just for now, I prefer to think we are in the driver’s seat, with perhaps some divine passengers around 8)))

Such a great topic. So relate to all you have written above. I certainly would prefer to believe that we have control over our destiny. Just not sure either way. I often relate to the term catch 22 as the deeper I get the less positive I am in many aspects of life.

I like the ‘driver’s seat’ theory. Tough to prove at the moment, but worth thinking about :)
