I REMEMBER EXACTLY WHERE I WAS AND HOW I FELT WHEN I HEARD IT ON THE RADIO IN MY CAR JUST OUTSIDE OF OAKLAND CA….DRIVING MY HUSBAND TO WORK…SUCKS WHAT HAPPENED TO HIM..JUST AS HE WAS BEGGINING TO GET BACK INTO HIS CREATIVITY IN RECORDING AGAIN…:(
yes…..I also remember where I was. My boyfriend (now my husband) rang me to tell me to turn on the radio. “They are playing lots of John Lennon songs….” he said, which made me momentarily happy….“because he just died”….it was like a slap. Disbelief. The next day My 2 friends (twins) and I all had interviews for art school. Their older sister drove us , and she cried all the way. Even the interviewers were upset.
