The word Dreaming is used here with deepest respect for the Indigenous peoples of Australia, and is not used lightly or in a spirit of stealing unthinkingly from Indigenous culture.
I want to show here the division of the land into parcles, the selling of the land to individual owners, a western attitude to land. Most Indigenous people now live with this paradigm of land use (often in the outskirts, the subdivisions, and often renting from the land owner, not “owning” it themselves). By using the modern, technological, mathematical forms of fractals, together with the imagery of traditional Indigenous art I hope to show the two worlds that Indigenous people find themselves in, as well as the “Great Australian Dream” of European Australians.
