Vincent worked for IKEA....... by

Many people find it incredible that so many famous artists worked for IKEA. Vincent lasted only a day and a half. He didn’t have the right temperament for the job. In fact it was only due to his brother Theo, who worked IKEA’s logistics department, and who pulled a few strings, that Vincent was hired in the first place. Nevertheless, despite the short duration of his employment, IKEA was to have a profound effect on Vincent’s art. Gone were the dark colours of paintings such as "The Potato Eaters", to be replaced with a much more vibrant palette. He especially made use of the IKEA blue and yellow. Vincent also began to use furniture, home accessories and room settings as main subjects of many paintings.

lovin the moon lamp…I want one, does Ikea still stock them?

  • No sadly these became discontinued around 1912, along with Vincent’s famous ear-shaped coffee table.

Il semblerait que Vincent n’ait jamais eu l’oreille de la direction.
