    I agree! I think still life is one of the hardest groups to paint.
    You’ve done a fine hob here, Katja Lots of detail and colour.

  • Thanks Colin! I find reflective surfaces most challenging, especially if an object with it’s own texture and color values

    This is a brilliant watercolour of a subject I wouldn’t touch with a bargepole! Well done. Please stay with watercolours – it really is the most flexible and beautiful of mediums.

I know what you mean, I was really scared of it too when I started the painting :-) I think it’s important to keep pushing your boundaries with challenging subjects, it’s like a line on the sand that we’re afraid to step over, and we can wait forever for the next tide to wash it away or… just step over it
