Hughes Net Pains
Hello fellow RB’r
I am at a friends computer right now. I got rid of dial up and went to Hughes Net service which means I am using a dish. Hughes Net has a glitch where the only site on the web that is blocked is redbubble.com Advanced Tech Support could not fix it. The server for RB gets disabled when I try to view it. The RB Tech people have contacted Hughes Net but they don’t seem interested. Beware if you want to start a Hughes Net service and want to view RB. I am working on my own to try to figure out how to set up my computer so as I may go to another server to use to be able to go to RB and do my thing. There are free servers out there to use for this. I just found some info and am working on it. I see there are many people whom have viewed my work and I feel really bad about not making comments back to them.. For now forgive me.. I will keep on trying to find the work around.. Until then I will find a way.. Miss all of you guys so..

i used to install and troubleshoot satellite internet systems. most of the problems with such systems stem from the lag time it takes the signal to reach the satellite and transmit back down to an earth station to become part of the hubbed net. do you have a static IP address? i haven’t kept up with the newest generation of Tx/Rx systems, so not sure why one particular site would be blocked. wish i had the magic bullet for you. i would hound Hughes Net customer service until issue resolved or compensation was made.

No connection problems at all..Blessed in that area J.K. I will bug Support at Hughes a bit more when I come up with a solution for them.. Or a work around which I am going to tackle in the next day or so.. Thanks..

Ditch the dish! I did. Now I have unlimited internet and they don’t care how long I am on or how much I upload. Dish used to punish me all the time for too much Internet usage and slow to to below dial-up speeds. We now have our local rural satalite service and it works really great.

In a spot J.D. No cable in our rural area and the air cards have poor reception I think its because we are in a cross over for a signal tower.. But the Satillite works great for everything else.. Redbubble server pages just load fine.. The problem is its all white pages.. No image or fonts load.. Have checked all software and its great.. Clean computer I am a tech head with that stuff.. Just have to get back home today and figure out how to sign on to a student user free server to access RB.. We shall see later.. So darn busy these days.. Retired and busy figure that.. I think I found a work around to view RB.. Its working so far.. Have to go enable JavaScript for it so the groups notice stuff come up on the page.. But as yet I am here.. Took some work..
