Blizzard Tree
Have you ever looked at something and thought ahhh a capture some day. Today was the day of the first attempt. It was a freaking blizzard out. High winds out in the country in my area the farmers call windswept. I headed into town for brunch at the pub. The roads were clear if you call two feet of snow in the good parts clear. High winds.. no courage to go to the tree. So after a good brunch and a few shots of whiskey neat style. I came back home.. I felt daring. Pushing snow with a big four wheel drive truck I went. There it was.. I fell in love. Out in the winds with the snow blowing hard I set the camera on a bean bag my wife made me for this purpose. Focus , Light , Frame, Oh God please.. Here is the first one. Maybe more. When a new sky appears.. storms or sunset we shall see.. I hope you find it in your heart to view large. I do so love you all on RB..

That was yesterday’s scene. I was like that would make great photos but I did not have the courage to go outside in the wall of white blowing across the fields next to my house to take any photos.

Shots like this and I wish we had those sort of weather conditions here sometime.
Wonderful shot
velveteagle in reply to micmac’s comment, 5 months ago
Hey Gigi.. The bean bag comes in so handy when you turn off the vehical and plop it down on the hood for a capture instead of setting up a tri-pod when its bad weather or something that will not last. Blue jean material and some dry beans for soup.
velveteagle in reply to Twinmum’s comment, 5 months ago
Much thanks Twinmum. The older I get the more I have to try to find something good about being snowed in. I need sunshine.

This sure packs a punch. I love how the tree is so visible and the farm behind it is hidden in the snowy down fall. The tree looks mighty and strong and laughs at the storm. All the other trees behind it coward away in the misty snow allowing the one to stand tall and firm! If only the tree could tell the story …
