velveteagle, this is sooooo beautiful. I love the detail in the wings, and those eyes and head are stunning. Very fortunate and lovely color combinations with the green of the body and the pink flower the dragon fly is sitting on. The green leaf at the botton really balances so nicely with the green dragon fly body as well!

Great image, I love dragonflies and yours is great.

Increasing your magnification increases your troubles (in a way). When upgraded I found I can get greater detail out of an image e.g. you’ll get great compound eye shots one the dragonflies however to fit the whole dragonfly into a single frame becomes a lot more tricky (and lots more throw-aways, digital it’s cheap to throw-away thankfully).

Macro is one of my favorites and this one is outstanding! Great focus, clarity and colors.

i understand! just yesterday i got to get a few quick snaps of a cicada i’d never seen before…....she’s was HUGE…over 2 inches in length and fat. i’ve yet to ID which one it was but haven’t really had time yet….we’ve seen so many dragons this year with the moisture producing plenty of food for them and i’ve YET to get ONE image of any! ugh lol
