Before IT was labeled as Evil Acts 43235

Socialism and Communism.
Without the -ism, they are
Social and Commune.

“All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.”

I must have the wrong Bible, let me check with King James

“And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.

And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.

Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,

And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.”

Sorry, King James was a king. We don’t believe in Monarchy, do we? We want an American Bible.

“And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one of them said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. For neither was there among them any that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, and laid them at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto each, according as any one had need.”

WOW! Were The Apostles the AntiChrists?

Oh dear. Imagine that! The Apostles had all things in common and distribution was “made unto each according as any one had need.” Hmmmmm, the evils of socialism practiced by those very men who walked and talked, ate and slept with the Christ Himself. When one calls Socialism a “godless” form of society are they calling the Apostles “godless”? When Obama is referred to as a Socialist Antichrist, are they calling the Apostles anti-Christ, and Jesus the anti- of Himself? Interesting concept. This requires much more thought.

    Definitely thought provoking. Thanks, Helen.

You have explained it all…Jesus advocated socialism…and those fun-loving Apostles followed
his lead…I knew I’ve been following Jesus all this time and some people tried to make me
believe I wasn’t!!!!! Thank you so much for this journal!!!!!!! xoxoxoxoxoxox

One of my favorite Jesus quotes:

Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’ They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’ He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least among you, you did not do for me.’ Matthew 25:41-45

I personally believe that’s the Essence of being A Christian.

“Then he will say to those on his left” Uh .. oh! Location Matters. ;-)

LOL Yeah, apparently those on the right don’t have to do anything to help anyone. HAHAHAHA

Here is the King James Version:

41Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:
42For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:
43I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.
44Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?
45Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.

The “left hand” was considered the “lower position” relative to the King or God. To sit on the “right hand” was to have a place of privilege.

The verses before that passage explain the “left” and the right>

32And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:
33And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.
34Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
35For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:
36Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.
37Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?
38When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?
39Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?
40And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

Sometimes we need to look carefully with our hearts and not pass the one up that seems plain or unimportant while we are full of ourselves wanting to sit with the pastors or those that are high up. We need to humble ourselves and wash our brothers feet, carry his load, etc. We need to look deeper than what our eyes might see because what may appear to be something that society might think less of… just might be “The King” walking past us to see if we are the sheep or the goats. Society has taught us to look at things and judge with our eyes but the Jesus I know doesn’t want us to look at race, color, creed or social standing and discredit another. Society has taught us to go for the perfectly wrapped box with the fancy bow on top but I’ve learned to look for the plain simple brown bag. I don’t know about anyone else but I think I am going to share and if they call it socialism then so be it….because in the end I will sit at the right hand. Jesus said , “Whatsoever you have done to the least of these, you’ve done unto me.” Ouch! One way or another, we will learn to share or the system will break and collapse because it’s set to function by caring for your neighbor. Love your neighbor as you love yourself. I remember one time, I had a friend who had cancer. We went to the same church. I wanted to set up meals for her and her family on the days that she had chemo, etc. The Pastor told me that we couldn’t do that because the church was going to grow and when it grew we wouldn’t be able to do it for everyone. I wanted to spit on the ground! I was furious and I decided to make the food myself and do it anyway. I also stormed the heavens because I was furious! Because if they couldn’t take care of the sheep they had then they didn’t need anymore. Hehe…you guessed right if you guessed that church almost died completely off. We as a Nation need to learn from this and stop putting God in a box. The last I checked, He took care of the homeless, fed the hungry, clothed the naked, visited those in prison, visited the sick and did all that America calls Socialism. Maybe we should just call it being a good neighbor.

It’s so easy to put anything in a smaller and smaller box, labeled and sorted. I agree with you when you say that we should just call it being a good neighbor. The modern world, with all its so called progress, alienates human from each other. The saddest irony is that church as a supposedly community/communal organization forget her higher calling, her Divine Calling to be the Body of Christ in the world. Thank you very much for your eye opening comment, Nora.

So true…the church was and is Dinvinely called to be the Body of Christ to the world. The church has allowed the world to infilterate and has gotten the world views instead of the views of Christ that we are supposed to have. However, there are still those of us who know the truth. Your post is an eye opener. Hopefully it will cause people to get off butts and do the work that causes one to be happy in life and that’s being a good neighbor. Giving in love brings back many blessings and much joy, it’s also the “glue” that holds all people together in peace and unity. It’s the “survival kit” that will keep us in this world thriving and living life to the fullest in the way that God intended. He said, “That it’s good to have two so that when one falls down the other is there to lift him up.” Should we not do that also with our food and all that we have to share. I think that’s exactly what he wants us to do. I love your post, it gave me a chance to be able to share what I’v e been trying to teach to those that I’ve met in life. Have a great day!
