balancing act................
Trethevy Quoit locally known as The Giants House is a Neolithic burial chamber which could have been used as either a communial tomb or to house the bones of ancestors, but because of the acidity of the Cornish soil reamains have not been found in any Cornish Quoits. Threthevy Quoit can be found on Bodmin Moor in the small hamlet of Trethevystone between Darite and Tremar and is signposted on the main route to minions from the A38 Dobwalls road

I found one like this dolmen is SE Oregon during a backcountry hike in summer of 2007???? RBubbler Shay Larkin from Ireland said it was a “dolmen”. Lucan do you know any history or age associated with this site and was it atop a knoll or near a hotsprings?
Lucan Netley ... replied
have been doing a bit of research into Trethevy and so far i have found out that quoits or dolmens of this type were constructed between the early and middle periods of the Neolithic era dating 3700 to 3300 bc. Trethevy sits atop the remains of a mound or cairn which may have almost covered the quoit. Quoits, Portal Dolmens or Cromlehs have been found throughout Britain and the world.
this is all the information i have on the site at the moment but am going to try and find out more in time :-)
