You are making nice pictures.. so you really shouldn’t hide them away ! You only live once (as far as we know) so life is too short to be shy..

I like the coloured one you use for your avatar… but don’t see it here.

  • Vanella Mead replied

The Avatar isn’t one of my pictures it is a microscope picture of light on a mocro chip. I should probably change it!

I wouldn’t because it is obviously appeals to you.. and the effect sits nicely with your work !

Beautiful! I bet this took you a while…and you must have enjoyed it!

  • Vanella Mead replied

It is very odd I go through cycles, some I love when doing them and some I hate. There is one with boxes on it that we forgot to photograph that I hated until it was finished. I’ll try and get it up here. This one I loved doing!

It’s very rare for me to get through a piece and not have hated it at some point! That’s the journey you go through, I think it’s very important :)

Brilliant, i love your work! As you noticed I am into Doodles myself, I spotted a few other doodlers here on RB, we deserve our own group really.. I thought of starting it, but I know i won’t be able to cope with the demands of the group administration considering my current workload….

Note: I wrote Doodle with a capital as I find it is an artform of its own… I don’t want you to think i said doodle as a lesser form of art: it’s one of my very favorites :))

  • Vanella Mead replied

maybe we should get together and do it ourselves :) and Doodle is something i do its nothing lesser about it. Scribble too :)

    Could do couldn’t we? :)))
    I agree completely.
I have only scanned a very limited number of doodles. like you, I have plenty, some filling the page, some not, with different pens and papers, sometimes on magazines (like that http://www.redbubble.com/people/cvail73/art/751911-4-doodling-on-planes). I have started learning illustrator to be able to do digital doodle, but i tell you, it’s not one! (doodle) as it is quite a lot of work. But it is great to explore the different doodle moods and forms…

Just needs a border to finish it off. Your work must take weeks or maybe even months to complete!!

  • Vanella Mead replied

most are months but I don’t actually sit down and work it out :)

    Whoa!!!!!! Love that!
There’s so much to it—I want to touch each bit as I see something there….this is the kind of talent to draw that I wish I had…...to make the curves and lines into parts of reality and imagination….so cool!!
