We where very happy finding this one at Oldina reserve Wynyard. Tasmania The colours and the shape was so different then all the others we found so far.

YES! these are definately the Oysters….edible and delicious! but sooooo pretty it’s hard to eat them. :o) one of my seasonal favorites to find AND eat!!!!

Wow you really eat these? How do you prepare them? Or do you eat them raw? Not that I will though. I am a bit scared to do that. Just in case I get the wrong one….........

i’ve yet to eat a raw wild mushroom…call me wimpy? lol
i satee mine in butter a little and LOVE them in either a pasta dish with clams/seafood…..or even in a soup with potatoes and beef
i never eat a mushroom i’m not sure of the ID…i’ll be the lucky 1 with the gravestone that says ‘she died because of toxic shrooms’.......

lol…i ate one of my favorites near the end of the season last year…....called Shaggy Mane…..delicious! that was on a frid….on sund. i made a pasta….on mon? i couldn’t crawl out of bed my stomach had started cramping so bad. by wed. i was sure i was trying to give birth to a blue whale then by thurs. i was ok again.
ends up? i made my pasta with a red wine vinegar sauce…and? ANY kind of alcohol within 5 days of consumption of the Shaggy Mane? will make u sicker then a dog! (read directions before consumption) my dr just laughed at me when i asked if i could keep my innards intact

A beautiful set of mushrooms. Nicely shot. I would never pick mushrooms and take them home and cook them like Carla does. I would have to be with a professor or mushroom guide to ever do that. And I always end up drinking alcohol within 5 days of any meal so forget that. LOL.
