Walking up Gloucester Way, my breath swirls about my face as I exhale, the air is visible like clouds of smoke in the icy air. I see him across the street, he is striding purposefully, filling out his green velvet jacket beautifully. His beige scarf is knotted to look like a tie, really smart from head to toe. He is engrossed in a book, though he doesn’t miss a step as he moves swiftly and gracefully along the pavement. I see him lift his left hand to his mouth, he is smoking and takes a drag that seems to stretch his chest as he fills his lungs with the tobacco laden air. He never lifts his eyes from his book, even when he crosses the road. Turning left, he moves off in the other direction, the last I see of him is his green jacket melding into the horizon. As I adjust my eyes from looking off in to the distance and my focus is filled with a purple cravat, tied in a winston knot…….another well dressed man observed on the streets of London.
