“DAFFODIL” was FEATURED in the group FOCUS AND LIGHTING
American Daffodil Society
DAFFODIL is the common name for all members of the genus Narcissus, and its use is recommended by the ADS at all times other than in scientific writing. “Narcissus” is the Latin or botanical name for all daffodils.
According to most recognized botanists, there are between 40 and 200 different daffodil species, subspecies or varieties of species and over 25,000 registered cultivars (named hybrids) divided among the thirteen divisions of the official classification system.
Daffodils are often white or yellow, with an impressive central trumpet. They are rather inexpensive to grow, and they are an added, beautiful attraction to any flower garden!
