In the cool glow upon white snow the little girl lay
making her snow angel feverishly she did play.
Up she jumped dusted the ice from her jacket
& into her mouth popped a piece of favourite chocolate.
She had an idea in her mind a plan
to ball together the snow into a man.
A body, head, eyes, mouth & nose,
arms, scarf, pipe & hat, that’s where it goes.
Something was missing it wasn’t quite right
what did she need to complete this grand sight?
In a minute she remembered & around his neck a scarf was tied
then she stood back smiled arms crossed with pride.
Her mum called out to hurry back inside,
on Christmas decorations she had to decide.
Her house was glowing, warm & it smelled good,
there in the lounge the Christmas stood.
A box of ornaments, a box of tinsel,
a box of lights & little bells that jingle.
She set to work dressing the tree,
it didn’t take long till she was done & happy.
‘I’m finished mum!’ she said aloud
‘thanks’ said her mother who kissed her ever so proud.
Once father was home & after they’d dined
off to bed with a story & cuddles to unwind.
Reminded she was of the special day tomorrow because
Of the visit from jolly Santa Claus.
Christmas tree lights flashing bright,
Biscuits & milk placed just right.
‘Look forward to the morning we will all be glad’,
kisses goodnight for little sister, mum & dad.
