they messaged me & requested an image to go with their writing. this is the outcome…

Head goes below the surface,
Darkness swallows any trace of light.
Bubbles let out of the orifices,
streaming to the surface.
drift down, closer to the darkness.
watch as the light fades.
the chest tightens,
Feeling the waters enter,
Being afraid to die, not wanting to die.
Hand thrusts up…
Searching for help…
Feeling fingertips but not gripping,
Watching as the last bubbles float to the surface…
Mouthing one word which hopefully reaches the top…
Limbo comes…
Sink or swim…
Fight to live,
Or go into the darkness…
Don’t know…don’t care…
Lights penetrate the depths…
Still drifting further down…
One more sip and all will be out,
No more pain,
No more feeling,
No more…
Sinking…
Deeper…
Deeper…
Realising there is more to live for…
Realising there are triumphs to be gained…
No will to accomplish…
No desire to rise from the depths…
Please bubble reach the surface…
