there is certain magic in every tree
they have viewed love and history
strong and powerful is their bark
the home for bluejays, cardinals and larks
their trunk is withered with age like a woeful soul
having gathered knowledge growing old
branches spreading far and wide
in the trunk birds and little critters hide
they are watered by the passing showers
standing straight and tall all life’s hours
their leaves grow beautiful and ever so green
their stems sturdy and strong in between
the leaves and branches in the wind dance
hearts etched on their trunks of true romance
magnificent are the oak and the elm
seeing them you cannot help but be overwhelmed
faeries and pixies in happiness prance around
while the wind blows through branches with its melodic sound
on a misty day come stand in the woods with me
and together we shall see the magic in every tree”
