The Pond
The pond
The Pond belongs to the following groups:
All Things Poetic, Artistic, PhilosophicalAnd there stood a woman with gray hair
A smile that could melt the darkest heart
Looking into the crystal water
Where you could feel the warmth of her being
Beyond all things
Then a man walked up
And he said “How much?”
“Excuse me?”said the woman with a perplexed look on her face
“How much do you want to sell it for?” he inquired
“Not for sale” said the woman.
Her gaze never left the pond.
He said “Ma’am I want this pond, you have to sell it to me”
“Not for sell”
Angrily the man charged at her and for the first time she looked at him
He stopped in his tracks
For in that moment he found the water that made the immaculate pond
As it traveled down her face
A pond of tears
“Its not for sale sir” she said
“This is the place I went all my life and released” she continued
“At first it was just a few drops in the soil”
“Then i had muddy water”
“Some days as it got deeper I wanted to throw myself in and never return”
“I wanted to drown in it, but still I just gazed in”
“Feeling its joy and pain at every turn”
“Now it is the beauty you see today” she said
“And its not for sale, it was patterned over time”
“One day you may make a place so serene”
“Out of your own turmoil and toil”
“But this place belongs to me”
“You see the reflection”
The man glanced over and saw the woman alone
Just as beautiful as before, but more intense
“That reflection is my soul”
“And it is not for sale”
“Once this life is over”
“It is already prided and purchased”
“To a lover I am yet to met the face of”
With that she turned and smiled into the pond
Jolted the man walked away
To find a serene place of his making
As to have the resolve
Of that wonderful woman
Brave enough to bare her soul
