My name is Valentina and I come from Russia.
I spent most of my life in Russia in Murmansk and St. Petersburg (formerly Leningrad), as well as in the Ukraine, Kiev. I also lived in the UK.
In Russia, my most important interests revolved around topics such as the hydraulics and the environmental studies – the subjects that I taught at Murmansk State University. One day my life’s path led me to live in a Bulgarian village and (happily for me) redirected my passion towards the multifaceted world of photography.
I love learning anything new about photographing and postproduction, and the endless process of improvement. This, together with some good outcome, has been very satisfying for me. I always carry my camera (Canon Rebel XTi) with me everywhere I go.
I like to take pictures of people and give them their photo-portraits. As noted by one Bulgarian, this is a kind of ‘humanitarian assistance’. Well, maybe… I embellish the faces of old people a bit, trying to make them look younger, and I can see how they are happy because everyone wants to look young rather than old. If human nature wants Digital Excellence… Why not?
Your comments on my photos and images are always welcome and appreciated.
