A Wisp

A wisp of ash, I find this place
And swirl around from side to side
A gust of wind, I flail about
Ungrasp myself; Forget to hide

Her echoed words distrupt my trail
As butterflies disrupt the air
Familiar thoughts from long ago
And there is no returning there

Perhaps I feel the things I want
Perhaps I hear the sounds I make
But as a cloud of darkened dust
I hardly choose the path I take

So suddenly to Earth I fall
And gently strike some kindling, then
A spark alights and peace is found
That fire might begin again

A poem

poem, text, fire, metaphor, ash, smoke, dust, bleh

Here is a portfolio of things I have made or written that would otherwise never see the light of day. For the most part they’ve meant something to me at a particular time, and maybe they’ll resonate with someone else.
