Child on the Railway Track

Tie me to the railway track
Don’t look back.
The stones begin to rattle
A humming noise
The train approaches
I scream
A dream.
And wake to the reality
Of what you are.
And where I am.
Men such as you
Should suffer.
Preying on the innocent
The weak
And the silent
But I will not be silent
No.
I was not silent.
Nor were my mother
Nor father.
And you paid for your crimes.
Perhaps this is why
I am as I am.
Why I despise your inhumanity
So much.
Sure,
I cannot remember
Those times
Not any more.
Repressed perhaps
Can the mind do that?
Or was I too young?
But I remember the nightmares
The filtered fears
Embodied in dark terror
Fit for a child.
Should we meet again
I would like to ask why.
Would you seek to justify
Yourself, or try
Apologise?
And if I should
Tie you to a railway track
Would I look back?
