Anathema - Stygian gloom

dead vision
total chaos on the roads of life
the state of mind was thrown
plunged into chaos by the resolution’s death
more dead than alive
many believe the peace plan is dead
unfortunately racism is not yet dead
Stygian gloom
almost total darkness
I peered into the shadows
peered into the gloom of the dark
I kept peering over my shoulder
I watched void space with morbid curiosity
my mind was filled with morbid thoughts of death
an inner gloom
an inner voice
dead images
dead vision
opposite believe
racial equality
racial hatred
racial origin
racial discrimination
a life of depravity
racial prejudice
racial prejudice is an anathema to me
unreasonable opinion
conflicts may lead to violence
harmful effect
Stygian gloom
my Stygian world
engraved on my mind
stigma on the flash
I will never forget because it affected me so strongly
I tried and laughed and that helped ease the tension
this was a practice sanctified by situation!

I like the thought “racial prejudice is an anathema to me” It amazes me how we talk about people in the US being prejudiced against anyone of Arian decent yet no one mentions the prejudice some of the Arians hold against anyone of US origin. The blacks have the same problem with whites. No one admits to prejudice but so many still harbor it, why when we are all individual human beings each unique and valuable.

Ushna.. You are brilliant.. You state your feelings how it can feel.. If you allowed yourself to succumb to the forces of what looks like a forever situation… but you know with all that I know you are… your journey and the depth of who you are to all of us here and to the would at large.. You are an expanded version of what is to come…

You are an expanded version of what is to come…You know we are products of our world but we do not…ever have to be in continued agreeance that this will be the way of the world… I went to an all black school. Bussed…thank God!! It was tough but I learned nuance and cultural differences… in fact I remember looking in the mirror and begging to be black… would not that make life easier.. And what is true is I thought black people were so much more beautiful than me.. With my ugly stringy hair and my sometimes blotchy white skin… I remember how it feels to want to be different to be accepted and to be loved…

With my ugly stringy hair and my sometimes blotchy white skin… I remember how it feels to want to be different to be accepted and to be loved…So yes here I am … an Older and more seasoned woman. Who because of all the trauma of my family of origin and my experiences in youth and the world,,,knows without a shadow of a doubt.. That all the ‘terror and the sadness’ is a story I leave behind.. Because the real truth is I am who I am because of each moment of my life..And each horrible act and each opportunity to see that indeed there is not much difference between two people except ‘thinking makes it so’…. I love you and I think you are very COOL… in the highest degree.. Cause being cool for me means the ability to shine in the face of all of life and be who you be.. and let em’ know ..Ya know.. This IS WHO I BE…..XOX

Very powerful stuff Ushna, but I think you did a wonderful job writing and expressing your feelings about this topic. It’s a chaotic world and sadly one that is filled with so much separation, but I think your words will definitely bring to light just how painful it truly is.

You do a great service for humanity by holding a spotlight on the most pervasive ill we have—Racism. If we leaned respect for one another, church leaders and politicians would be left to fight their own wars.
