Rocky Mountain Sunset by Lori Peters

Small (23.2" x 15.5")

Available to buy on…

This picture was taken after a thunderstorm passed along the front range of the Rocky Mountains. If you look closely, you can see a road winding through the mountains, shiny from the rain. This area is recovering after the devastating Waldo Canyon Fire that destroyed almost 350 homes in Colorado Springs in just one night. It was the worst wildfire in Colorado history.

Lovely photograph Lori. I see the road winding into the mountains, out of sight. I’m glad the fires are over and hope the people of your state recover soon.

  • Thank you, Helen. These mountains never cease to amaze me with their beauty. The houses can be rebuilt but the historic places, like The Flying W Ranch, were such a devastating loss.

I can see the road! Fascinating how that can turn up despite it being so dark below. Now there seems to be fire in the sky – and it had it’s share of crying already. Glad you were okay though.

  • Thank you, Mui-Ling. We are in extreme drought mode so the rain is always welcome. I hope you are doing well there in Canada.
