Sharon K. Shubert
Wonderful tribute to all those who serve in the armed forces! :)
Lori Peters replied
Thanks, Sharon. I just have to show my patriotic side once in a while or I will just have a meltdown. ☺
Sharon K. Shubert
Do you have someone serving in the war?
Lori Peters replied
My ex-SIL served in Iraq. My husband and I both served. My husband for 24 years. I actually deployed him to the Mid East once. He hasn’t forgotten it. ☺
Ilunia Felczer

Amen to that Lori. Even though I am British, I have a very soft spot for my American friends and allies. – Ted
Lori Peters replied
That is so kind of you, Ted. I have always liked Europeans. I want to visit Ireland because most of my ancestors came from there. I hope things are better in the UK than here. I am deeply grateful for all who stood with us on that terrible day in 2001 and since. I hope all the troops from all the countries are home soon. xoxo
Solomon Walker

Thank you, Barry. I hadn’t heard of Books for Soldiers. It is a great idea and something I would like to do. xoxo
Hans Goepel
God bless Australia, America and all Sons and Daughters ho serve for our countries…
Beautiful tribute Lori. – Thank you
Lori Peters replied
Amen, Hans. As I told Wendy, I hope Australia is doing better than we are. The economic situation is really bad here. A lot of these kids are joining the military because they need a job and a roof over their heads. I believe that Australia, UK, Canada and the US are the only countries that have troops over there. I say it is time to bring them home. I don’t think we can defeat the Taliban. They are too strong. We lost 8 soldiers from our Army Post here just a couple of weeks ago. We have had hundreds of casualties from this post. These are things that keep me up at night. xo
WendyJC
may god bless all countries!
people who live and care xoxo
Lori Peters replied
Amen to that, Wendy. I hope Australia is doing better than we are. The economy is so bad here. A lot of young people join the military because they need an income and the educational benefits-if they live long enough to collect on them. I have pictures of the Australian flag and flags of all the allies. I just thought some people might take offense if I posted them. With all our efforts, things are deteriorating in Afghanistan. I wish the would just bring home the troops. xo

Lori Peters replied
Thank you, James. I have learned to layer! Well, Aidan is the hospital with flu and I have to go sit with him for a few hours. I am running on about 3 hours of sleep. Now that it is cold, the flu is breaking out everywhere. I hope you are having a good week. xo

A wonderful tribute Lori!! God Bless all service people fighting this horrible war!!!

Thank you, Kate. This war is turning out to be worse than Vietnam. I just wish they would bring the troops home. 8 years is enough of trying to fight the Taliban. xo
kjgordon
as a veteran of Viet Nam….......its time to win this war or come home…........untie the hands of our military ….....................
Lori Peters replied
I totally agree. Remember, the former Soviet Union got there arses kicked over there. I just don’t think we can change that place. I hope I am wrong. Thank you for the comment. xo
CanDuCreations
A beautiful tribute Lori!
Lori Peters replied
Thank you, Thea. xo
kjgordon
I am with you …..........we don’t need to change anything over there…...just rid the world of the rats….......If we change our rules of engagement we can do wonders….........but too many rules apply to our troups….......not theirs…..
Lori Peters replied
I agree. Let the people on the ground make decisions. The Vietnam War was lost because of politicians back here. xo

dougie1page2
with you lori!
Lori Peters replied
Thank you very much, dougie. There is place near where I live that has flags of about 50 countries. I would like to do a series of flags of different countries. I have to have a windy day with a blue sky to get some good shots. I enjoy flag pictures-don’t know why. xo
Barry Norton
Great tribute Lori
Lori Peters replied
Thank you, Barry. xo
Jael
I agree with KJ! For ONE day, I would give ANYTHING for the politicians to be the ones on the battlefield!!!! ONE DAY!! That would fix ALL!! And the Pres. would LEAD!!!!! for a change!!!!
Lori Peters replied
You are so right. The first time they came under fire they would have a totally different attitude. I can remember going through chemical warfare training where they throw you a gas mask and sling you into a room full of tear gas. You learn quickly, believe me. They used to make us stay up for 24 hours straight just see how we could function without sleep. Our politicians are a bunch of pampered poodles without a clue. xo
Jellybean720
GREAT TRIBUTE :))
Lori Peters replied
Thank you, JB. xoxo

I hope Aidan recovers soon. Best wishes for your both. :)xx
Lori Peters replied
Hi, James. Aidan had some rough moments last night in the hospital but seems to be turning the corner. I stoped at Toys R Us on the way back from the hospital today so he will get plenty of Bob The Builder and Thomas toys to help him forget the bad times. He comes home tomorrow and I will keep him. He just has to be on oxygen for a few days. I appreciate your kindness. You are a wonderful friend. xo
Shoaib .
indeed !!!! love how patriotic you are !!!
great image
Lori Peters replied
Thank you, Shoaib. I live in a city with about 5 military bases so I just can’t help myself. xo
luanda
Great image and tribute! Up with peace worldwide…PS:I’ve read something bad happened to Aidan..HE’s ur son, I gues…Hope he’s healing…Luv, DANIELA
Lori Peters replied
Thank you, Daniela. Aidan is my grandson. I am still getting used to the idea of being a grandmother. He was born with a horrible birth defect involving the heart. He had 2 surgeries which have saved his life. He got the flu and the fever made his heart go bonkers and he couldn’t get enough oxygen. He will have another surgery where they go through his groin to put stents in to hold open the pulmonary artery. He has had wonderful doctors and is doing better than we could ever have expected. Thank you for your kindness. xo
luanda
GRANDSON????? U are soooo young! ...Such a terrible news…I wouldn’t EVER learn this news…Poor little sparrow…A third surgery!!! How painful, my little lovely child! I hope he’s going to heal soon…every day a little better! I’m so displeased, Lori! Anyone would suffer…expecially children…God blessed him! Give him a big kiss…HUGS to ya! See U soon! DANIELA
