Oh, where is the light?
The hope for a darkened world?
The dreams, long since lost?
It’s not enough now
To wander in the darkness
With your eyes shut tight
We have to do more
Just living is not enough
Search for the lost light
No one is too small
In this lost monochrome world
Believe in yourself
Brighten this dark world
See yourself for who you are
You don’t have to fear
Open your eyes wide
Light shines brightly in darkness
You, yourself, are light
Understanding this
Your light touches other hearts
And the darkness fades
I don’t usually write poems. I like writing stories better (though my short attention span usually doesn’t let me finish them). I’ve now written a grand total of three poems – one after my uncle died, one that was lost in a computer crash, and this one. So far, this is the only one written in haiku style.

heart, light, dark, poem, haiku, hope, search, yourself, bright, eyes
I currently live in North Central Texas, and only recently discovered my love of photography. In the coming months I am going to be attending the New York Institute of Photography to start my studies. I worked at a local portrait studio for about six months before deciding to go back to school. My dream is to open my own photography studio someday. Thanks for viewing my photos.

You should be an inspirational speaker! Nicely written
I don’t know about that, I tend to ramble on when talking in person :) But thank you for the nice comment.

you really should write more poetry…love this…x
Thank you. I would write more, but it’s not something I can just sit down and do. If I try, I get writers block :( But they do come to me every once in a while :)
