A journey is a symbol of transition, change or evolution which is expressed in countless myths and legends where a hero undertakes a journey beset with physical and moral trials. In psychology a journey may symbolise the quest for self-discovery.

I see Egypt, golden temples, pharaohs and tombs, not to mention the elements of fire, ice, wind and water… Some of your layers look as delicate and transparent as silk. Your paintings seem to take on a Life of their own Sophie, they’re so strikingly powerful. I have no idea how I’ve been missing the updates for some of your recent work!

the Gold is very Egyptian, it’s like the inside of a tomb, i can see a pedistal, full of stpirits or souls, as if they are waiting to greet or help, it has beautiful motion, so stunning,,,Sophie, it’s wondeful, such an Ancient feel, rich and colourful…..x

I agree with JenniferB, I also see the Egyptian influence here. As well I see a connection of this culture with the ancient Australian aboriginal race, I see a primitive stick figure drawn on a wave shaped red cave wall in the outback, the green wave at the top is perhaps the Akashic records which encircles our planet! Immediately gave me goosebumps…...outstanding art Sophie. xxx

yes egyptian and other influences, but the 3 striking things for me is the river below (definite journey definite symbol of life, death, being. trek, the flow being left to right (except for the bottom pink which seems to flow right to left in opposition or contradiction as all journeys have their pitfalls and stumbling blocks) and the light that emanates from the gold. which for me draws the eye to it at first then opens up the whole of it. wonderful painting sophie.
