Greer Spring ~ Ozarks Shangri-La

Greer Spring ~ Ozarks Shangri-La

Located down a one mile hike down a deep ravine in rural Oregon County Missouri, south of the town of Birch Tree, Greer Spring is the tenth largest freshwater spring in the world. With a daily flow of 220 million gallons, the spring nearly doubles the flow of the nearby Eleven Point River. The spring bubbles out of the mouth of Greer Cave, flowing over several shallow falls with a second spring a couple hundred feet below boiling up from the middle of the stream. This is one of the most beautiful places in the Ozarks.
