i appproaced the bridge, the birds
high looked at the footprints,
they alone could see them fade,
as progress, was gradually made.
only from great vantage,
could this route be seen.
and i sent up to them a signal,
to cover me, shower me with little bird kisses,
bring me to life, take my weight.
as they rained their kisses down,
like so much sweet confetti,
invisible, i found myself holding onto the sides,
of the world and of my own life.
tomorrow i will reach the other side,
as today, i rest, i am tired.
tomorrow there will be no struggle.
