my heart

my heart was exploded, and scattered
wide,
it was in parts like tiny stones,
or the tiny lives,
picked up by the oystercatcher at low tide.

and in suspension
hung,
so alone and so apart,
sifted through the
gills of the basking shark.

like sand in its minute shape
and form,
moved along, and around
by time,
and wind
and sound.

my heart was spread
along the trimmed verges
as pollen
as tiny as the air itself,

blown across the land,
in heaven,
and somewhere else.

my heart in fragments
made me whole,
caught by vertiginous swifts,
dragged under by
poor unseeing mole.

i am this part of you,
all i am, just remnants
of stars,
you breathe the air
and you breathe out the past,

i give to you
my heart
my heart.

Turner painter one man a speck on the horizon, here you are the horizon, the environment, embodied – raw, and tender – as woodie123 below – beautifully written, very moving ub
