Captured on an overcast day last summer south of Gretna, Manitoba, Canada, about 2 kms from the USA border. This is the first farm of this nature that I have seen here in Manitoba. I believe the pioneers of yesteryear used the heat from the livestock to extend through to the house in the long cold winter, in order to conserve their wood supply. Can you imagine waking up in the morning to find a cow in your living room LOL…There was no evidence of anyone living here however. I find it hard to believe, it is still standing, and in such good shape.
I believe it was built at the turn, of the century, or perhaps even earlier
Better seen enlarged HERE
