Captured on the Seawall side of the Harbour at Gimli, Manitoba, Canada.
The Seawall Mural Gallery is a unique display of artisanship. It includes 60-plus works of art painted on the harbour-side surface of the seawall at Gimli Harbour. The murals are the work of members of the Gimli Art Club. The club celebrates its fortieth year this summer with the restoration and expansion of the seawall exhibit. The older murals have weathered 11 years of lake weather; some have fared better than others. The historical themes of the artworks complement the trend in the Seawall Mural Gallery. With a few exceptions, the murals feature historical vignettes, ranging from the landing of the Gimli Glider (launched last July to mark the 25th anniversary of the storied landing) to fishing-themed artworks.
