The common Redpoll breeds in the Arctic, but is an irregular winter migrant to southern Canada and the northern United States. They will often visit bird feeders, where they are can become quite tame.
An abundant breeding bird of the boreal and taiga regions, the Common Redpoll is a member of the finch family. Sex differences are, male pink on chest and less streaked, female without pink and heavily streaked.
