Really? This is a government building?
I’m tickled. Cool.
Yes indeed, its another Norman Forster design, a lopsided cousin to 30 St Mary Axe aka The Gherkin . My favourite is the Millau Viaduct in France (never been, but watched a documentary on its construction) . The idea of this design, is said to be ‘transparency in politics’… and I still haven’t finished laughing!
Wow!!!…..Great capture, Umbra!!….Looks like a giant beer barrel……. Love the title!!….. :-))
Thanks Sue , I think you’re right, we should start calling it that :))
Excellent shot Umbra, i’m with Sue, a giant beer keg!!
Thanks Marvin , the previous Mayor was said to be permanently pickled, so you may be right :)
tickled by winter brances……. nice :o)
Great shot, does the mayor like his beer?
Thanks Danielle :)) The new one…not sure. But he sometimes sounds it
Tickle ickle! Now this is one iconic building I do know. Always worth a visit. Nice one Dunc.
Thanks Denis :) I’ll look out for the next open day. Must snap that spiral staircase…
fantastic capture this is a lovely structure !
Thanks Jane :))
Haha – those tickling branches – and it does seem to be leaning back proffering its belly in appreciation… love the design! had no idea your mayor was so progressive;)
I should change the name to ‘Tickling the belly of the Beast’ ;))
