I see the painting as the dancer creating the lotus flower. It makes me think of the quote ‘What we think, we become’.

This is an oil painting on canvas. There are many references to Hindu mythology in this painting. The water symbolizing the cosmos, the dancer symbolizing change and time which is never still and always in motion, the lotus flower symbolizing peace and calm and the om sign representing the universal sound. I love the colours in this painting and the way oil paints blend so well.

visualizing ideas, capturing what I see, what I want to see and working within the boundaries of the medium (oil, acrylic, charcoal, pencil, pen, pencil crayon, watercolour, ink, etc) is an ongoing joy. Sometimes a struggle but one I keep putting effort into and I feel so happy that I make art apart of my life. I enjoy viewing and finding art as well and am thankful for all the inspiration. Very good … the thumbnail view only shows part of the picture though. I had that problem recently where part of my painting was missed off in the thumbnail view.

thanks, I know… the site always seems to use the center of an image as its thumbnail and doesn’t readjust when the dimensions of the image are larger or longer in this case.
