I have always been compelled to create in a tangible way through drawing, painting and photography. Not only does it bring me joy, but I value this form of communicating. I truly believe that a big part of being human is to allow ourselves to be creative.
There are many local and international artists who have influenced me – some highly conceptual and others with mastery over a medium. I appreciate technical achievement such as applying the right amount of pressure on the pencil, mixing the perfect colour on the palette or setting up a great composition. The craft brings as much fulfillment as the meaning behind it. When both are at the same level, an amazing piece of art is created.
