In photography there is a technique called differential focusing, where the background is out of focus to highlight the main subject. It works great and it works for this painting too … gives it impact.

Please do not take this the wrong way my lovely friend, but this looks (to me) like it was painted in Sunday School by a Child. It is gorgeous and the colours, well, I think they are stunning.
