It was inspired by the movie, 2046 :D It’s a movie of a writer journalist in the 60s hongkong writing a sci-fi fiction called 2046. Though the story he wrote had a futuristic theme, he was actually writing about his past which he had difficulities letting go. Great movie by director Wong Kar Wai and actor, Tony Leung….but can be really confusing too, so I had to watch a few times to understand :D

It is a sequel to “In The Mood For Love” movie :D If you watched this one before you watch 2046, you can better appreciate why this writer journalist had a deep longing and regrets for the love which was once almost within his grasp….so it only ended up as a secret which he could only whisper into a treehole. 2046 actually refers to a room number :D But if you just watched 2046 itself, it’s also ok as the story does give you some clues about In the Mood For Love.
