God has a sense of humor
Even when he smites
Karma is His bitch

I’ll never forget the night

I stole away in secret
I bartered all our trust
I vowed that I would keep it, but
I did give it up

So now we must let go

What it took two years to build
When, in fact, I only needed
Two hours to seal the deal

I awoken to new love
Or so that I believed
I chased him ‘round the block
Reciprocation not received

I followed him for miles
Thinking “this was it”
And when he stole my smiles
I bartered yet again

So now I must let go

Of all hope in everlasting
I ruined my perception
Love and lust forever clashing

I hurt the man at will
Then I was hurt in spite
Karma is a bitch

I’ll never forget the night
