All lights lead to Home

The road kept winding
and the darkness kept growing
but I kept driving.

with each dash in the road
another thought…
another regret
another hope
or maybe just another wish
on street lights that looked like
gold
like stars in the midnight

and they formed two lines
dotted paths
to a skyline
filled with
memories
that faded behind the
horizon
that was so purple
it was black
and the streets
were golden after all
these stars had cast
their glow
and maybe home
was not such a tragic
ending
and maybe home
was indeed
a new beginning.

Maybe on this road you will leave love’s preconceptions behind…

  • maybe… I am trying to understand what love is really… not what the fluttering butterflies tell me.. but what it really is.

  • Thank you… I have felt this many times on the long drive home from wherever I ran away to… I was never able to describe it either until I saw those colors and realized how beautiful home could be.
