Artist's Description

I found a chrysalis of this moth as it was morphing from a caterpillar on one of my iris leaves and brought it inside to hatch. It took 10 days. The information I found online said it is a Canadian moth. We have an abundance of them in Texas this year. It overwinters in the adult stage and can live up to 10 months. It feeds on tree sap.

Taken with my Sony Nex-5
Focal Length 54.0mm
1/200s, f/8.0, ISO 200
