India Inks on coffee stained paper
This piece was inspired by a real life cat named Corky who was born with a birth defect that caused his back legs to be twisted and deformed. Unable to walk and getting around by dragging his back end, Corky didn’t realize he was different and loved to be petted and give love. His guardians, the wonderful folks at Cats Cradle Shelter in Fargo, ND, posted his situation on FB and raised over $4000.00 for his surgery and recovery. You can visit their page and read all about him. He underwent an extensive surgery to basically rebuild his back legs and is now recuperating and continueing the long journey to full recovery. It looks hopeful that he may gain use of his back legs but for a cat that has never walked normally, it looks to be a long process. His amazing story inspired this newest artwork and his courage and resilience continues to awe me. I will donate 70% of all sales of this piece to Cats Cradle Shelter for Corky and all the other cats that they help live happy and loving lives and help find their Forever homes. :)

thank you! and me too. He is wearing bandages on both his back legs but Cats Cradle Shelter posted some recent video of him walking a bit trying to use his back legs. It really is heartwarming and amazing!
