MUFFIN Humpty-Dumpty

This shot is of our neighbour’s cat, Muffin. He is a splendid young man, and is the main ‘gentleman-suitor’ of our own cat.
Here he is sitting in his “office” with humpty-dumpty, surveying his territory.
Muffin was rescued from the Animal Welfare Shelter, and now lives the life of a pampered boy.

MUFFIN Humpty-Dumpty belongs to the following groups:

All Pets Great and Small, Beginner's Expressions, Cutest of the Cute, For the Love of Cats , 1 image a day and Rescued Pets Available for sale as

great shot and well framed by the trees (big smile) .. and that little egg guy on the fence … oh me just adds to the shot!! ... and the tilt of Muffin’s head … a fav (big smile)

  • TwirlyAngel replied

Thanks for your lovely comments. This young gentleman is such a sweetie – he visits us often, and our own (very austere and matronly cat) just loves him to bits. They are often found asleep together or else frollicking in the back garden, or just plotting together as they watch the birds over the fence.
They are a delight to watch. I have never before seen two cats from different ‘territories’ be such good mates…... we call them the old married couple.

I think she is beautiful – but in an ugly/beautiful kind of way??? (she is a tabby/moggy – but we love her). Muffin is a real darling and is always visiting us.

Muffin is a heartbreaker for sure… you’ve got a great capture!
Cool to hear of his rescue too :)

  • TwirlyAngel replied

    Thanks
    - Muffin has just had a bit of an ‘operation’..... the poor boy had a ‘disagreement’ with the local tom-cat…. Poor Muffin came off 2nd best – but he is now recovered (many stitches later!!!)
I shall post a photo of him with my cat (Peanut) – so look out for it.
He really is a ‘heartbreaker’, my cat is truly ‘in-love’ with him, and she pinned so much for him when he was confined inside for 2 weeks.

Only another cat lover would allow me to get away with this following comment:

I think Muffin has a kindly face. My wife says I am always anthropomorphisising our cats, but he has. Some cats look sly or mischievous (our Mitch is mischievous) but this fellow looks quite avuncular.

My wife has just looked over my shoulder and said, “Ah, yes, he HAS a kindly face … just like our Mao”.

  • TwirlyAngel replied

I agree – Muffin does have a lovely kind face.
We too make the mistake of treating our cats as “little people” – but they do tend to take on our ways, and I know that they understand what I tell them.
He is a great ‘thinker’, whereas Peanut is a “plotter” (revenge is her weapon, even if it takes a day or two!!!)

Mitch just bit me and then licked my hand to make it better. he doesn’t bite hard though.

  • TwirlyAngel replied

Beware of that licking to make it better…... it could be a forerunner of “Chomp and see what happens…..!!!”
I had the same thing just last night. Peanut was on my knee (as per usual!!!), when I decided I needed to get up to put on the kettle….. you guessed it…... bite!!! not hard, but just enough to show her “displeasure” at the inconvenience of movement!!!
Tell me again, why do we like cats so much?????

  • BLYTHART

    BLYTHART

We like them because they have hypnotised us into liking them :) They are just SO funny! Mitch just came in from the garden, marched into the lounge and made one his speeches. They aren’t meaows like Mao makes … more like talking. Anyway, after eyeing us up and down he sauntered off to the conservatory, still muttering loudly to himself and used his litter tray, then walked out back into the garden. When he was young, Mao did that for a while too, until he realised that for cats the whole outside world is one big toilet :) Maybe Mitch was asking us to move his litter tray into the garden for convenience? :)
