This beautiful yearling had two blue eyes. At first, I was calling her a Medicine Hat due to the cap over her ears and poll, but upon doing some research I’ve found that she has too much color on her body. A true Medicine Hat has the ears/poll, as well as a shield on their chest, but the remainder of the horse is white. Guess that’s why they’re so highly prized!

This filly is on the South Steens HMA in Oregon.

Great capture of a lovely filly – she is a Tobero – shows both markings of an overo and a tobiano.

  • Thank you for the kind words, Louise, and identifying her as a Tobero! I just knew she was beautiful… :)

She is very pretty, those blue eyes will make her a prized catch some day…

  • Yes, Helen, I’m sure they will serve her well in finding a home if she’s gathered from the wild one day. She’s very striking!

What a beauty. I seriously need to get out and photograph some of these wild horses the next time I am in the USA.
