THE DRIVER
Thank you Donna for THE DRIVER.. for whom I wrote this poem
Please check out my friend Donna’s other amazing artwork and writing on the RB
It is his job..with cap on his head
To go out and work .. a job he does dread
Picking up passengers .. in his car
Some need a ride close..some go far
He’d much rather be home..with a bottle of beer
Sitting on his couch .. nothing to fear
The job isn’t safe .. many drivers get mugged
His wife is home ..he’d rather be hugged
But he must earn cash..bills have to be paid
Life is so boring .. he should have stayed
At his job..worked at the mill
Missing his friends..lonely still
Traveling along .. oh there’s a fare
Wanting to go .. somewhere
Cheating me out of my tip..what a conniver
Unlucky me..I’m THE DRIVER

Great poem Sally – you feel really sorry for him, poor chap – he needs to get a new job! x Love Donna’s work too! xxx
Sally Omar replied
Angela, I can relate to this from my husband’s drivers..he has a
limousine business and sometimes they will drive me somewhere
if it is far and I don’t know how to get there and it seems they would
much rather do something different..but money keeps them going.
