Civil War Graveyard

Thanks to Mel for her Civil War Cemetery Photos

Please check out Mel’s (Mlgkats) other awesome photos on RB

Everyone cried when they laid me down
Underneath this hallowed ground
A preacher said a prayer
All my family and friends were there
We were the casualties of the war
Some rest here but there were many more
There were Confederate and Union Soldiers
Who once stood shoulder to shoulder
They fought in a war bitter and severe
Brother fought brother who once were dear
The Confederates lost the Union won
But how many lost their sons
Our spirits roam and we cannot rest
In our uniforms we’re still dressed
Every night when you pass by
You will hear all the dead cry
Our souls are tortured by the Civil War
We left our wives that we adored
And we paid the ultimate price
With the loss of so many lives

Angela, Thank you so much. The Civil War was so sad…families
